Some Guidelines
Design
It is very important that you work out what the site has to do for your business or society, the people that you wish to target and the messages that you wish to get across. In most cases, sites work best when kept simple and easy to navigate. While it can be very eye-catching, too much flashy stuff going on can be distracting from your message and may even stop people wanting to use it after a while.
Building the Site
Once designed in outline, I then begin the site build with a view to demonstrating the first version to you. It is likely that this will not be the final version as there are probably “tweaks” required once there is something concrete to look at.
Uploading to the Web
One of the most important parts of the process is the choice of domain name. This should reflect you business or society’s name as this makes recognition in a search easier. Thought should be given to which if the many hosting packages available is most suited to your requirements. Once the choice of name and host is decided, the process of uploading the site is straightforward and, within a short period of time, you will be visible to the Web community.
